I have been talking about this site with some of my friends and I am running in to a common pattern. Most people say, “I don’t even remember what my childhood dreams were”. Then they get a far off look and… Suddenly they do remember them. My favorite part, however, is the second step – where they realize they actually are living out some of their dreams already - even if they hadn’t thought of it that way before.
I have a friend from Junior High that I remember as being one of the most thoughtful and well read people I have ever met – and that was in Junior High. She used to love to talk for hours and challenge all of our ideas, especially about religion. Turns out – she’s a college professor. Go figure. She teaches Feminist Theology at a Christian University– and she is even more challenging and better read now! Go figure!
Childhood dreams don’t have to be unfulfilled. Sometimes they are with us in unexpected ways. Reconnecting to childhood dreams doesn’t have to mean quitting your job, sometimes it simply means honoring an important part of yourself. So fun!
